A Bulldog developed in Switzerland

The FCI standard says breeders set out to create a medium-sized Molossoid dog by crossing English Bulldogs with Old English Bulldogs. The name was chosen to distinguish it from the English Bulldog.

An athletic, almost square build

It is a medium-sized, short-coated bull-type dog. The standard describes an almost square, athletic build and calls for quiet breathing even at a fast trot or gallop.

Fawn, brindle, black and white coats

The 2026 FCI standard permits fawn from sand to red, brindle and black, with or without white markings or a dark mask. White is permitted both with and without markings in those colors. Other colors and combinations are not permitted, and a specific spot pattern is not desired.

Size and coat layers

The 2026 FCI standard gives a height of 42–50 cm for males and 40–48 cm for females; its weight section lists 30 kg and 25 kg respectively. The short, flat topcoat is glossy rather than wiry. The undercoat is short and fine, but its absence is permitted.
