Border Terrier

Temperament
Affectionate, Happy, Plucky
[3]Background and classification
Developed in the English–Scottish border hills, it followed mounted fox hunters and entered dens, combining endurance with a small working body.
[1]Appearance and coat
A functional working-terrier outline combines a small body with legs suited to running. Its practical construction contrasts with companion breeds whose long coats conceal the outline.
[1]Coat and comparisons
JKC lists red, wheaten, grizzle-and-tan and blue-and-tan. The mixed appearance of grizzle and the placement of tan are separate visual comparisons.
