Large Munsterlander

Temperament
Intelligent, Affectionate, Self-confident
[3]Background and classification
Part of Germany’s longhaired pointing-dog tradition. After black was excluded from German Longhair breeding in 1909, a club formed in 1919 to preserve black-and-white dogs, with planned breeding from 1922.
[1]Appearance and coat
Powerful and muscular yet tall and clean in outline, it is a versatile gundog particularly associated with work after the shot. It remains distinct from the Small Munsterlander.
[1]Coat and comparisons
JKC specifies white with black patches or blue roan, with a predominantly black head allowing limited white or a blaze. Large patches differ from the finer intermixture of roan.
