Turkish Van
- Lifespan
- 13–17 years[6]
Temperament
Sweet, Interested
[1]Background
Modern breed history centres on cats taken from Turkey to Britain in 1955, followed by development in other countries.
[1]Appearance
The large powerful body has a soft semi-long coat with colour mainly on the head and tail. Amber, blue and odd eyes are recognised.
[1]Coat and comparisons
The van pattern occurs in other breeds. Head-and-tail markings alone do not establish Turkish Van breed identity.
