Harrier

Temperament
Friendly, Outgoing, People-oriented
[3]Background and human relationship
A British hound developed for hare hunting and also used on fox. JKC notes uncertainty about its precise development; proposed crosses are not treated as a proven pedigree formula.
[1]Build and coat
Described as larger than a Beagle and smaller than a Foxhound, with a sturdy yet light-moving build. Size, bone and movement help distinguish similarly coloured hounds.
[1]Colour and comparisons
JKC describes a usually white ground with shades ranging from black to orange, and notes tricolour dogs with a black mantle in France. White area and the placement of darker colour on back and head are useful observations.
