Entlebuch Cattle Dog

Temperament
Loyal, Smart, Enthusiastic
[3]A Swiss dog from the Entlebuch valley
The breed comes from Switzerland’s Entlebuch valley in the cantons of Lucerne and Bern. The FCI standard calls it the smallest of the four Swiss Mountain and Cattle Dogs; it worked as a drover and farm dog.
[1]An agile body longer than tall
Height to body length is 8:10, with a compact, muscular build. The FCI describes a lively, self-assured dog, devoted to familiar people and somewhat reserved with strangers.
[1]A short double coat and a tricolour pattern
The short, close-fitting topcoat is harsh and glossy over a dense undercoat. The tricolour pattern combines black with tan markings from yellowish to reddish brown and white; both a natural long tail and congenital bobtail are accepted.
