Komondor
Temperament
Dignified, Loyal, Brave
[3]Background and human relationship
An established Hungarian livestock guardian, associated with dogs that reached the Carpathian Basin with Magyar pastoral people. It is distinct from the similarly cord-coated Puli.
[1]Build and coat
A large strong body is covered by dense long cords. The outline tends toward rectangular, with a hanging tail whose tip turns upward. Underlying body proportions complement the coat.
[1]Colour and comparisons
JKC specifies ivory. Comparisons with dark cord-coated herding dogs distinguish breed identity, colour and the corded structure, which is a coat texture rather than a colour pattern.
