An old Iberian dog used in Andalusian herding, waterfowling and fishing assistance, with body and coat suited to work in both dry and wet conditions.

A medium slightly elongated muscular dog. Its curly appearance can be compared with Portuguese and Romagna water dogs, but it has its own history and breed identity.

JKC allows white, black or chestnut self-colours and white with black or brown, excluding tricolour and black-and-tan. Curl, ground colour and white areas are separate observations.
