Romanian Mioritic Shepherd Dog
Temperament
Independent, Loyal, Confident guardian
[4]A flock guardian of the Carpathians
FCI and UKC give Romania as the country of origin and describe the breed as a livestock guardian of the Carpathian region. It is a large shepherd dog with a guarding role.
[1]A slightly longer, unencumbered outline
The FCI standard gives a body-length-to-height ratio of about 11:10. The dog is large and powerful without being so cumbersome that movement is impeded.
[2]An abundant coat in white and grey
The abundant coat is straight and rough, with a thick undercoat. The FCI standard describes white and grey grounds and also recognises clearly marked patches on white.
