[3]A breed described by a Mexican registry standard
AKC’s January 13–14, 2025 board minutes report that the FSS Committee approved a petition to accept the Calupoh into Foundation Stock Service. The record concerns admission to that programme.
[1]A companion in the herding group
Mexico’s FCM standard places it in the Sheepdogs and Cattle Dogs group and describes a versatile companion. It characterizes it as loyal to family, able to coexist with other dogs and sometimes aloof with strangers, and describes modern development beginning in the mid-1990s.
[2]A large dog with a double coat
FCM heights are 62–75 cm for males and 58–70 cm for females. The medium-length double coat is rough outside and soft beneath. Black or smoky black is preferred, and some adults turn silver. White/sable or solid sable is accepted but not desirable. White chest and foot spots and brown socks are allowed, with markings elsewhere prohibited.
