A large sighthound developed for deer hunting in the Scottish Highlands, also called Scottish Deerhound. Rough hair and height invite comparison with the separate Irish Wolfhound.

Resembling a larger, more strongly boned rough-coated Greyhound, it retains a streamlined sighthound outline. Long legs, deep chest and the underline complement its coat texture.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Colours include dark blue-grey, other greys, brindle, yellow and sandy red. Limited chest, toe and tail-tip white is allowed, while a white blaze or collar is excluded by the standard.
