It is medium-sized, with a body about 7–10 cm longer than its height, a well-developed chest, compact bone and solid legs. The FCI height range is 52–57 cm for males and 48–53 cm for females, which are smaller and finer.

The coat is short, fine and smooth. The FCI standard describes distinct white-and-orange markings, from lemon to deep russet orange, without ticking.
