Skye Terrier
Temperament
Courageous, Good-tempered, Canny
[3]Background and classification
A Scottish terrier associated with Skye, historically used for badger and otter hunting. Its long coat covers a low elongated working body.
[1]Appearance and coat
Body length is about twice its height, with short legs and strong body and jaws. Profuse hair obscures the outline, making leg placement and body length useful observations.
[1]Coat and comparisons
Black, shades of grey, fawn and cream occur with black points. Related shading and lighter undercoat can be allowed in an otherwise self-coloured coat, differing from large contrasting patches.
