Pyrenean Mastiff
Temperament
Gentle, Brave, Noble
[3]Background and human relationship
A livestock guardian developed in the Spanish Pyrenees from Aragon to Navarra, used against wolves and bears and for farm guarding. It is distinct from the Pyrenean Mountain Dog associated with the French side.
[1]Build and coat
A very large dog with powerful bone and muscle and moderately long coat. Balance should preserve movement without sluggishness, making proportions and gait useful alongside size.
[1]Colour and comparisons
White ground carries a clear facial mask and coloured ears, sometimes with matching body patches. JKC disfavors solid white, so face and ear colour help distinguish it among large white guardians.
