[3]Background and human relationship
A Hungarian gundog with modern selective breeding from 1920 and FCI recognition in 1936. Often called Vizsla, it is distinct from the Wirehaired Vizsla.
[1]Build and coat
A medium lean athletic dog combining elegance and strength, with short hair following the body outline. Its face and body texture differ from the bearded wirehaired breed.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Russet-gold to dark sandy-gold shades may have slightly darker ears. JKC disfavors overly red or brown tones and allows limited chest, throat or toe white.
