Beagle
Temperament
Curious, Friendly, Merry
[3]Background
An English scent hound historically used for hare hunting, it combines a small build with scent-tracking work.
[1]Appearance
The compact body is sturdy. Proportions and the shape of the head and ears help compare it with other hounds.
[1]Coat and comparisons
JKC describes hound colours other than liver and a white tail tip. Familiar tricolour photographs do not show the breed’s entire colour range.
