Poitevin
A large scenthound from France
FCI and UKC identify the Poitevin as a large French scenthound. FCI places it among large hounds and lists a working trial. The FCI height range is 62–72 cm for males and 60–70 cm for females.
[1]Strength combined with lightness
The FCI standard describes a hound combining strength, elegance and lightness. Its long limbs and deep chest accompany a light, bounding gallop through undergrowth.
[1]A glossy short coat in several patterns
The coat is short and glossy. The FCI standard lists tricolour with a black saddle or large black patches, white and orange, and wolf-coloured coats; black-and-white alone is excluded.
