Miniature American Shepherd

Temperament
Intelligent, Good-natured, Devoted
[3]Background and human relationship
Developed in late-1960s California from smaller Australian Shepherds, retaining active herding qualities in a small body. It later gained its current name and is a distinct breed.
[1]Build and coat
A small agile herding dog, slightly longer than tall, with a medium double coat and proportionate bone and muscle. Its athletic overall balance is more informative than size alone.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Black, blue merle, red/liver and red merle may have white or tan markings. White should not predominate. Merle marbling and white or tan placement are separate comparisons.
