Russian Black Terrier

Temperament
Intelligent, Calm, Powerful
[3]Background and human relationship
Developed in Russia in the late 1940s and early 1950s from several breeds for working service, including Giant Schnauzer, Rottweiler and Airedale. Black Russian Terrier is an alternate ordering of its English name.
[1]Build and coat
Large and heavily boned with developed muscle and a body slightly longer than tall. A substantial head and muzzle furnishings stand out. Build and history distinguish it from superficially similar black schnauzers.
[1]Colour and comparisons
UKC most favours solid black, while describing limits for scattered grey hairs and black-and-tan. Registry-specific scope is retained; a black-looking photograph alone does not establish registration colour or another registry's show rules.
