Saarloos Wolfhond

Temperament
Independent, Affectionate, Sensitive
[3]Background and classification
Developed in the Netherlands from Leendert Saarloos’s 1932 German Shepherd–wolf crossing, it gained recognition under his name in 1975. Its history differs from that of the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog.
[1]Appearance and coat
A robust balanced body, fairly long limbs and wolf-like coat and movement distinguish it. JKC describes companionship rather than a single specialised working role.
[1]Coat and comparisons
Wolf-grey and brown-tipped shades contrast with pale cream-to-white undersides and inner legs. Grey coats have black nose and eye-rim pigment; brown coats have liver pigment.
