Templecat

Background and classification
NZCF places Templecat in the Birman group. Coloured points, blue eyes and white feet accompany a short coat. The Birman group has included Templecat since 2020.
[1]Appearance and coat
A long muscular solid body has a broad chest and large round paws. Nearly round eyes are widely set. NZCF’s coat section specifies short silky hair without undercoat, standing slightly away from the body.
[2]Coat and comparisons
Colour is concentrated on face, ears, legs and tail, contrasting with white gloves and rear gauntlets. NZCF charts include seal, blue, chocolate and lilac. White feet and points alone do not establish breed identity.
[2]Development in New Zealand
Shorthaired offspring from a New Zealand Birman outcross in the 1990s formed the foundation. NZCF describes recognition by Catz Inc in the 2000s, followed by NZCF acceptance in 2019.
