Australian Terrier

Temperament
Courageous, Affectionate, Spirited
[3]Background and classification
An Australian working terrier established in the late nineteenth century. Related in development to the Silky Terrier, it remains a distinct harsh-coated breed.
[1]Appearance and coat
A low, longish sturdy body has a strong head and a ruff around the neck. Harsh body hair contrasts with the softer topknot and the silky coat of its relative.
[1]Coat and comparisons
Blue, steel-blue or dark grey-blue with rich tan occurs alongside clear sandy or red. White on chest or feet is undesirable. Self colours contrast with blue-and-tan distribution.
