Mandalay

Origin and related breeds
NZCF’s 2024 standard describes Mandalay as derived from Burmese, with the same type standard. It identifies coat colour and eye colour as the differences.
[1]Head and face
The standard describes a medium-sized cat with a slightly rounded crown, good breadth between the ears and wide cheekbones tapering to a short blunt wedge. The jaw hinge is broad and the chin firm.
[1]Build
The body is described as medium in length and size, firm and muscular, and heavier than it appears. The chest is rounded in profile and the back straight from shoulders to rump; larger males are allowed.
[1]Coat and eye colour
The coat is short, fine and close-lying, with a satin-like texture and gloss. Eyes range from golden yellow to amber, with amber preferred in the NZCF standard.
