Romagna Water Dog
Temperament
Affectionate, Keen, Undemanding
[3]Background and classification
Originating as a retrieving water dog in the Comacchio and Ravenna wetlands, it became a truffle-searching dog as land was drained. Lagotto Romagnolo is another registry name.
[1]Appearance and coat
Small-to-medium and strongly built, it has dense woolly curls. Body and leg proportions beneath the rounded coat, and the change in working role, offer useful comparisons.
[1]Coat and comparisons
Colours include off-white, white with brown or orange patches, orange roan and brown roan. Brown and orange may have white marks; a darker brown mask and tan markings are allowed.
