[3]Background and human relationship
A North African sighthound with a long hunting history. Morocco is responsible for its standard, and JKC describes one shorthaired variety. Similar lean outlines do not make it equivalent to Saluki or Azawakh.
[1]Build and coat
Lean muscle and fine construction create an elegant outline. With little coat bulk, the chest-to-belly line and the relationship of body and limbs are readily visible.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Shades range from light to red sand, with or without black mask, mantle, brindling or overlay. Ground shade, dark face or back areas and stripes are separate features.
