Chinese Crested Dog
Temperament
Alert, Lively, Affectionate
[4]Background and role
A Chinese companion breed includes hairless and fully coated powderpuff varieties. The crest refers to hair on the head and neck.
[1]Appearance
A small elegant body may be lighter or more substantial. Hairless dogs retain head, foot and tail furnishings rather than forming a separate breed based on hair quantity alone.
[1]Coat and comparisons
A broad colour range is allowed. The powderpuff's soft long full coat changes colour appearance and outline compared with the hairless variety.
[1]Colour limits in the FCI standard
FCI allows a broad range of colours and combinations but excludes merle. Hairless and Powder Puff are two varieties within the same breed.
