Peruvian Hairless Dog
Temperament
Noble, Affectionate, Lively, Alert
[3]Background and human relationship
Known as viringo in Peru, with hairless-dog depictions on pottery from several pre-Inca cultures. Historical depictions are distinguished from direct proof of an individual modern dog's pedigree.
[1]Build and coat
An elegant lean build combines speed and strength. Hairless and coated varieties exist, the latter with short smooth close hair. A coated individual is not excluded from the breed solely because it has hair.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Hairless skin ranges through black, grey, bronze and brown, with standard limits on unpigmented areas. Coated dogs may have colours and combinations other than merle. Skin colour and hair colour are distinct features.
