[1]A small Czech ratter
The FCI standard says the Prague Ratter has a long history in the Czech lands and used its small size, quick movement and keen sense of smell to catch rats. The Czech name Pražský krysařík also means ratter.
[1]A revival begun in 1980
The standard recalls the small dog at Czech royal and Bohemian courts and records that its revival began in 1980. The FCI has recognized it provisionally since 2019, which is distinct from definitive recognition.
[2]Small and nearly square
The Prague Ratter has a small, compact, almost square body and may be smooth-haired or medium-long coated. The standard gives a guide height of 21–23 cm for both sexes and allows several colors, including black, brown or blue with tan markings.
