Nederlandse Kooikerhondje

Temperament
Alert, Friendly, Quick
[3]Background and human relationship
A Dutch duck-decoy dog restored from 1942, with the foundation female Tommy prominent in its history. Provisional recognition in 1966 was followed by full recognition in 1971.
[1]Build and coat
A small active nearly square dog with black ear-tip furnishings called earrings and a well-feathered tail. Its work involves attracting ducks into a decoy rather than directly catching them.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Clear orange-red patches on white accompany a blaze reaching the nose, with colour on cheeks and around the eyes. Black ear furnishings contrast with the red-and-white body; limited ticking is allowed.
