Lakeland Terrier

Temperament
Friendly, Confident, Bold
[3]Background and classification
Developed for fox hunting among rocks in Britain’s Lake District, it needed a body able to negotiate narrow places and legs capable of reaching distant working ground.
[1]Appearance and coat
Compact and balanced, it has a neat working outline. Compared with the similar Welsh Terrier, both form and its broader colour range provide useful distinctions.
[1]Coat and comparisons
Colours include black-and-tan, blue-and-tan, red, wheaten, red grizzle, liver, blue and black. Small white patches on feet or chest are tolerated though undesirable; self and two-colour coats can be compared.
