Russian Salon Dog

A Russian-developed breed group
The RKF standard describes a toy companion-dog breed group developed in Moscow at the start of the 21st century through complex crosses of miniature breeds. The standard was approved on July 3, 2019, and its English version on November 29, 2022.
[1]A small dog with a long, parted coat
Small and balanced, its body is 6–8 percent longer than its height at the withers. The RKF standard gives a height of 18–28 cm and weight of 1.8–4 kg, proportionate to size. Abundant long straight hair covers the head, body and legs, parting along the spine.
[1]From red shades to a wider range of colours
The RKF standard’s red range extends from rich red through sable to pale fawn and cream. It also describes black, blue, brown, Isabella, merle, brindle and pied coats. It distinguishes white marks on solid colours at up to 10 percent of body surface from pied patterns at 10 percent or more.
[1]An RKF standard alongside a distinct UKC category
The UKC lists Russian Salon Dog in its Bloodlines group and says it has no UKC breed standard or Conformation eligibility. That describes the UKC listing scope; it is separate from the RKF standard.
