Neapolitan Mastiff
Temperament
Dignified, Loyal, Watchful
[3]Background and human relationship
A large guardian associated with Naples, Italy. Historical mastiff connections are described, with renewed attention through enthusiasts around 1947. These accounts do not establish it as the ancestor of every modern large dog.
[1]Build and coat
A large substantial dog whose body length exceeds height. The mass of head and body and their relationship to the limbs shape its outline, offering comparisons within the broader mastiff type.
[1]Colour and comparisons
JKC describes grey, lead-grey, black, brown and fawn shades, allowing brindle and small white chest or toe markings. Grey depth, warm brown tones and striping are separate observations.
