Italian Greyhound

Temperament
Alert, Playful, Sensitive
[4]Background and role
A small Italian sighthound known in Renaissance aristocratic courts, it retains the structure of a sight-hunting hound despite its small size.
[1]Appearance
A slender elegant body has near-square proportions. Compare head, body and leg proportions as well as size with Greyhound and Whippet.
[1]Coat and comparisons
JKC lists black, grey and pale-beige Isabella solids, with white limited to chest and feet. Registration colour ranges remain source-specific.
[1]Colour criteria by registry
AKC allows any colour and markings except brindle and the tan markings normally found on black-and-tan dogs of other breeds. This differs from JKC solids and limited white, so visible coat colour can be compared with each registry standard.
