Temperament
Playful, Love human company, High energy
[4]Background and classification
TICA distinguishes longhaired and shorthaired Highlanders. Loosely backward-curled ear tips and a short tail distinguish them from forward-eared Scottish Folds, including cats called Highland Fold.
[1]Appearance and coat
A muscular medium-to-large rectangular body has longer hind legs, a broad nose and substantial muzzle. Open wide-based ears curl gently at the tips. The standard requires a shortened tail, not absence of a tail.
[1]Coat and comparisons
Long hair falls smoothly at the sides, with longer belly hair and toe tufts. TICA lists solid, tortie, tabby and silver/smoke divisions; coat length and pattern are separate comparisons.
