[4]Background and human relationship
A Greenland sled dog that supported Inuit transport and hunting. Breeding valued strength, persistence and endurance as well as appearance, connecting the breed with polar work and human livelihoods.
[1]Build and coat
Its powerful spitz build serves sled work in harsh conditions. JKC prioritizes working ability and balance, allowing some size variation when these are preserved. Size alone does not describe functional construction.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Both self-colour and parti-colour are allowed across a broad range in the consulted JKC standard, with albinism excluded. White areas alone do not establish albinism; coat pattern and pigmentation categories remain distinct.
