Hanoverian Scent Hound
Temperament
Independent, Loyal, Calm
[3]Background and human relationship
A German hound developed in Hanover for tracking wounded game, especially hoofed animals. UKC's Hanoverian Hound and FCI's Hanoverian Scent Hound identify the same breed.
[1]Build and coat
A powerful medium dog has slight forehead wrinkles and broad close-hanging ears. Flexible ground-covering movement supports its work. It is distinct from the Bavarian Mountain Hound.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Light to dark deer-red may show varying brindling, with or without a facial mask. Small white chest patches are tolerated. Ground shade, stripes and facial darkness are separate observations.
