[1]A sight hound developed in Hungary
Also known as the Magyar Agar, it is an old Hungarian hunting breed. The FCI standard says it was crossed with other sighthounds in the 19th century to increase speed.
[1]A hunter and courser built for distance
It hunts by sight and is used for coursing and racing. The FCI standard highlights its ability over longer distances and describes a strongly boned, muscular body that is slightly longer than tall.
[1]Short, dense hair and permitted colours
The hair is short, dense, coarse and smooth; a considerable dense undercoat may develop in winter. The FCI standard allows colours known in sighthounds except blue, blue-and-white, brown, wolf-grey, black-and-tan and tricolour.
[1]Overall balance matters more than height
The ideal FCI height is 65–70 cm for males and 62–67 cm for females. The standard explicitly gives overall balance more importance than the height measurement in centimetres.
