[3]A Nordic dog used with reindeer
The Swedish Lapphund has been known in the Nordic region for centuries. The FCI standard says it was used by people in Lapland for reindeer herding, hunting and watch duty, and is now mainly kept as an all-round companion dog.
[1]A Spitz with erect ears and curled tail
This slightly-below-medium Spitz has a rectangular body and proud head carriage. The standard describes it as lively, alert, kind and affectionate, attentive and willing to work.
[1]A weather-resistant double coat
The Swedish Lapphund has a profuse double coat with dense undercoat, a neck ruff and a long bushy tail. Black is usual; bear-brown bronzing may appear, and the standard permits white on the chest, feet and tail tip.
