Thai Ridgeback Dog
Temperament
Loyal, Alert, Intelligent
[3]Background and human relationship
A dog of eastern Thailand used for hunting, guarding carts and watchdog work. Early Thai written references describe such dogs, although its full development is uncertain. It is distinct from the similarly ridged Rhodesian Ridgeback.
[1]Build and coat
A muscular medium short-coated dog, slightly longer than tall. Its ridge consists of hair growing opposite to the surrounding coat. Hair direction, body shape and overall coat length are separate observations.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Self-colours include red, black, blue and very light fawn called isabella. Blue denotes a greyish coat. The ridge is a hair-direction feature, not necessarily a differently coloured stripe.
