Burgos Pointing Dog

Temperament
Balanced, Calm, Sedate
[4]UKC traces the breed to the 1500s
UKC says the Perdiguero de Burgos has existed since the 1500s and presents a proposed ancestry from the Old Spanish Pointer and a Spanish scenthound. It historically hunted deer and is now also used for quail, partridge and hare.
[1]A powerful, calm, large hunting dog
It has a well-developed head and hanging ears, with a sturdy, nearly square body. Its coat is short, and the standard describes a calm pointer used for both furred and feathered game.
[1]White with liver patches or roan
The coat is dense, short and smooth. White and liver are combined in irregular patches or roan, sometimes with a distinct white patch on the forehead.
[1]Size and the treatment of black and tan
The UKC height range is 24.5–26.5 inches for males, approximately 62.2–67.3 cm, and 23–25 inches for females, approximately 58.4–63.5 cm. Black coats and tan markings above the eyes or on the legs are disqualifying, distinct from the permitted white-and-liver patches or roan.
