American Satin

Coat feature
A cat type described by GCCF as having reflective, satin-like straight fur. GCCF lists it among unrecognised breeds. Satin describes sheen, rather than a particular colour such as black or red.
[1]Historical TICA record
TICA’s 2024 winter minutes reproduce American Satin with the experimental code XST in an old list. The same minutes approve deletion of the clause containing that list; historical listing does not establish present recognition.
[2]Registry evidence
American Satin does not appear in the championship, new-breed or registration-only lists of TICA’s June 2026 rules. GCCF refers to TICA, but that reference alone does not establish present registration or show status.
[3]Comparison with satin-coated rex cats
Tennessee Rex combines curls with satin sheen, while GCCF describes American Satin as straight-coated. Sheen alone does not make them the same breed; curl provides a separate comparison.
