Lowchen
Temperament
Affectionate, Outgoing, Positive
[3]Background and classification
A French bichon-family companion, named for its traditional lion clip. FCI’s Little Lion Dog and the name Lowchen refer to the same breed.
[1]Appearance and coat
A small lively dog traditionally has clipped hindquarters and part of the tail, leaving a tail-tip plume. Grooming creates the lion-like silhouette, which differs from an unclipped coat.
[1]Coat and comparisons
JKC allows a broad range of self and spotted colours but excludes brown, chocolate, liver and related shades. Registry-specific limits and the visual effects of grooming are separate considerations.
