Dark Deadgrass

AKC lists “Dark Deadgrass” for the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Its standard accepts every shade of deadgrass. The American Chesapeake Club’s illustrated guide for judges describes deadgrass from faded tan to dull straw, including very pale, almost white shades and darker shades that can include diluted brown. The registry label names a darker deadgrass category, but the standard sets no cutoff from adjacent categories.
