Blue Mottled

Blue Mottled names a blue coat with mottled markings. The AKC glossary describes mottling as dark, roughly rounded blotches on a lighter ground. The AKC Australian Cattle Dog standard accepts blue-mottled coats and black, blue or tan head markings. The FCI Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog standard also accepts blue-mottled coats and black head or body markings, but tan markings are disqualifying. The conditions for additional markings therefore differ between these breeds.
