The Madagascan Straw-colored Fruit Bat is endemic to Madagascar. A diet study in the east found that it ate mainly fruit and also used eucalyptus flowers.
Its back is light brown to yellow-brown, and its underside is olive-brown. A short tail is another characteristic.
It eats mainly fruit; flowers of eucalyptus were also found in an eastern Madagascar study. It often roosts by day in rock cavities, and large aggregations are reported to be rare.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
