This small cisticola lives in Kenya’s highland grassland and moorland. It builds a ball-shaped nest among grass tussocks.
It is about 12–15 cm long. The buff upperparts are heavily streaked black, while the underparts are uniformly buff.
It feeds on insects in highland grassland and builds a ball-shaped nest of soft grass and seed heads in a tussock. A survey around 2010 reported an association with dense low vegetation in undisturbed grassland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
