The tufted ground squirrel is a Bornean squirrel with long ear tufts and a large, bushy tail. It uses the ground and tree trunks; a study site recorded frequent feeding on hard seeds.
Long tufts extend from its ears, and pale stripes run along its sides. Its large, bushy tail is held high when it is active.
It is active by day and is seen on the ground or low tree trunks. At one West Kalimantan study site, many feeding observations involved hard seeds of Canarium and Mezzetia trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
