The Plumbeous Kite is a daytime raptor with a lead-gray body, red eyes, and yellow legs. It often flies around forest edges and savannas and feeds mainly on insects.
Its body is almost entirely slate gray, with yellow legs and deep red eyes. In flight, white tail bands and rufous patches on the primaries become visible.
It is diurnal and feeds mainly on insects such as ants, termites, and cicadas. It has also been observed following marmoset troops that may flush prey.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
