Adult males have a pointed snout tip in dorsal and lateral views and a triangular tip in ventral view. Adult males have no webbing between the fingers. Adult males have round nostrils with lateral openings. It is a semi-aquatic rainforest frog living near rivers or small, slow-flowing streams. It is more active at night. It has been recorded at Moramanga, Betampona, Andringitra and Marojejy, among other sites in Madagascar.
