The Gola Malimbe is a weaver of the Upper Guinea forest belt in West Africa. Field work in Liberia recorded it foraging high in lowland forest and joining mixed bird parties.
Adults have a yellow breast and undertail coverts with a black belly. The male has a yellow nape and the female a black nape; young birds are grayer with some yellow on the head.
In the 1993 study, 79% of records came from 8–22 m in high forest, where birds joined mixed parties and ate insects. Nests hung from lianas at 8–21 m.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
